1st ANNUAL SEWERS FORUM RETREAT
Arrive after 6:30 p.m. on Thursday and attend our welcoming reception. Bring your sewing machine and any projects you would like to get finished. Spend the weekend sewing and getting caught up, then leave after Brunch on Sunday to enjoy the delicious meal hubby or your children will be cooking for you for Mother's Day.
Participate in our free classes, watch our fashion show, cast ballots to choose the Viewers Choice award in the SF Sweatshirt Challenge and participate in our Show & Share and Award dinner Saturday night. Our special “thimble” is missing and we need help finding it. Find it and win a special prize. There are a couple of other surprises in the works and there will still be lots of time left for you to work on projects of your choice or simply spend some time with your sewing friends. Elim Lodge is located on Pigeon Lake and our accommodation is right on the lakeshore so it’s a great venue to simply enjoy a walk outdoors Creative Styling (www.creativestyling.com) and Distinctive Sewing (www.distinctivesewing.com) will both be on hand as vendors if we need to purchase any extra fabric or supplies.
This facility is noted for great food. The meeting room is very spacious and I am assured that there shouldn’t be a problem with fuses should we all decide to sew all at once. The sleeping accommodations include both “cabin “ and “motel” type rooms and rates are based on double occupancy. Most units have 2 bedrooms and a pull out chesterfield. These cabins can accommodate up to 3 persons with the 3rd person sleeping on the pull out chesterfield. There is also a small kitchen area which includes a sink and microwave. Meals are provided, but you must bring your own snacks.
Cost for the Retreat is $275 per person ($300 for non-members) which will include your accommodation and 7 meals, ending with Brunch on Sunday. This also includes a minimal gratuity, free classes and events as specified on our Retreat Program.
If you wish to join us at this retreat, a $55 deposit will be required by February 15th, 2010 payable to Cheryl Wray, with the remaining monies ($220 or $245) due April 1st. Your deposit of $55 is refundable up to April 1st. After that, Elim Lodge charges a $55 administration fee per cancellation.
